I ordered the same range for the same price at Pacific Sales. It's being delivered tomorrow, to replace a horrid GE Profile Electric slide-in. Have you had yours installed yet? I also got the Pacific Sales extended warranty. It was really cheap; hope it really works. I don't know anything about the company.

zippy & mani, are you elecrolux icon ranges installed yet and are you using them? if so, can you give some feedback on performance? are you happy with your purchase?

Jaty, our range is installed and it looks lovely. Here's the feedback:

* The Pacific Sales installation guys were nice but they weren't equipped with the right tools (a very thin wrench) to properly extend the legs to level the unit. I subsequently called Electrolux who sent servicemen to do it for me. Meanwhile I had borrowed a thin wrench from a friend which these guys used to level it.
* The unit must be hardwired so be prepared to do some electrical work if you're replacing a more conventional unit.
* We are extremely happy with smooth glide racks, the look of the unit, and its cleanability.
* The convection bake settings are not working correctly (rear element doesn't heat up). Electrolux promptly sent out very courteous servicemen but their first two attempts have not been successful. They're coming out again. I'll keep this board updated. (The regular bake setting works so we're not yet hampered.)
* The burners are wonderful. No complaints here. They are, however, spaced far apart, so conventional griddles barely fit and are not uniformly warm. There is some dead space in the middle of the griddle. This is true even of the griddle they give for free with the unit. On full blast the flames can peek out from under the griddle towards you, so watch out.
* You can get infinite control of the simmer setting by turning the knob between off and ignite. Very useful.
* The grates are very heavy. By design, it seems that the inner tine is angled just slightly greater than the outer one, so pots rock ever so slightly. It's really not an annoyance but I don't know if it's a defect or not.
* The lack of a temperature gauge takes getting used to. The oven beeps twice once preheat has been achieved, so if you've left the kitchen and missed it, you'll never get positive confirmation. This is probably true of other pro-style ranges too.

For the price we paid we think it's a great bargain and we would do it again.

I have the Kobe Ch-179 undercabinet hood. It is vented straight out the back and has the oil filters. For the most part it works great, really sucks out the smoke. What I'm disappointed in is the lights. They are only 20 watt and only in the front. The back of my range isn't as bright as I would like. Most other hoods have lights that you can angle. This one doesn't. Maybe the models your looking at have different lights.I would definitely look into that.

My brother in law installed the hood, he's a GC. He said it was the craziest install he'd ever done. Nothing made sense and he had to drill all the holes in it himself.

If I had to do it over I would pick something else because of the lights. IT is powerful though and works very well above our DCS. And it does look great!

I have the Kobe CH7936sq hood over my Bluestar range and it is great, at the time the models you are seeking were not in their line up, had they been I would have went with the 76 because it has baffle filters, so does the 91 but I like the look of the 76 better.

I have the Kobe 176 and I love it. Quiet mode, low, med and high. Med setting takes care of almost everything.

Did you like your Kobe, if you ordered it? I've read mixed things about the operation and how flimsy the steel feels. I have the same setup as you and am considering this hood now.
