I was looking for a shallower one as well. It seems that most full size units are a bit under 24" but the handle brings them to over 25". Jsceva is right about the Perlicks. Also, Miele's unit is a bit under 24" (it has a flush handle) but really pricey--I am not willing to spend $$$ on a wine cooler. I just found a Uline wine captain that also has a flush handle that is much less money so I am going to go with that one. If you mean less than 24" that you can go with the "almost 24" then check it out.

I can't speak to the specific model, or to the price or amount of space you have, but don't let the guys talk you out of your fridge space concern. I have a 30" all fridge and frequently have it packed, including the light packages on top of the tall bottles filling up the vertical space. You have to look at the way you use a fridge, what you need right to hand, and how much you can store in your remote fridge (if I had one, I could move a lot of what takes up room in mine. There are a lot of things, like baking supplies, that must be refrigerated, but aren't needed all day, every day). Do you shop more than once a week? Do you plan on leftovers for feeding your family, or do you make each meal fresh? How much are you willing to cart up and down to and from the basement? For instance, I wouldn't want to have to go down to my garage for the baking supplies, though I wouldn't mind going to an adjacent pantry or mudroom or something. OTOH, I'd be okay with defrosting a turkey down there and bringing it up at cooking time. Really figure out what will work for you and make sure that you're going to be happy with the solution. Also, compare other models and see if one of them would be significantly larger enough in the fridge compartment to do you any good. For instance, the Liebherr also has a fairly large freezer. Would it hold enough more to be worth the price difference? The more you think it through thoroughly, the better you'll like the outcome.

Well, I'm not buying the Blomberg after all. It took forever to find out that it has an inverter type compressor (the continuously running type like Fisher and Paykel Active Smart that creates a "hum" that never stops). It seems to me that the choice is between the inverter type compressor and the non-inverter type compressor or between continuous low level noise and non-continuous louder noise. I will take the non-continuous louder noise. At least there are time periods where no motor is running. Continuous low level noise is, in my opinion, less healthy overall than louder noise interspersed with no noise. If the refrigerator was going to be in a separate room, then I might feel differently about this. But our kitchen is open into a "nook area" and further on is the family room -- no doors. If I had a separate-room pantry, I would put the fridge in there. So, I'm starting my search all over again. Will look for another discussion on Houzz about just finding a quiet fridge in general. Need a fridge less than 18 cubic feet and more than 15, bottom freezer preferred, not Euro-tall type, and, of course, QUIET! Any suggestions?
