a vessel with no overflow not draining fast enough. in this very specific case, i think it is good to point out that "venting" could mean before or after the P trap. In plumbing, venting means after the P trap. If you had two vessel sinks (each with no overflow) connected by a "continuous waste" onto a single P trap, they would both flow well, as air in the pipe below one sink before the P trap would get displaced into the pipe of the other sink. Newbies, search on "continuous waste" to see images. Continuous Waste Center Outlet is easiest to visualize. Continuous Waste End Outlet is the other option. If someone else more qualified wants to add to this description, please do. To add more precise plumbing terms to describe the two kinds of venting. Before the P trap and after. Water and air have to be exchanged (displace each other) for a pipe to drain well. When it drains slow, one can increase the pipe size (which allows air in the pipe to move around the water coming down) by one size, or give the air another place to go to. AAV Studor type valves are for letting air in, not for letting air out. They are used after the P trap not before. Following the logic of air displacement described above, one way to solve the slow drain is to Wye in a standpipe which would then let air move out of the way (get displaced) when water comes down the drain. The standpipe could be hidden from view; it doesn't have to be in the bathroom if you have a more appropriate place for it behind one of the walls. HTH !

It depends on the type of faucet you ordered, more so since you have a vessel sink. If you bought a copper finished faucet that has a lift handle for the drain, then that company will normally offer a drain tailpiece in the same finish. That setup may or may not work, depending on how you install the vessel sink. that pop-up would look like this: Should you want a drain tailpiece with a pop up that is not connected to the faucet, ie, it's operated indepently, again, those should be available. You can either get a "press and pop" drain, or a manual "lift and twist" pop-up like this: ...or if you don;t want to hold water in the bowl at all, you can get a plain old drain tailpiece like this: First thing I'd do? Find out from the manufacturer of the faucet that you purchased what types of drain tailpieces and pop-up assemblies that they offer. They would give you the best bet of matching the finish of the drain to the finish on the faucet. Mongo

My new Shaw kitchen sink doesn't drain completely either but the water does pool evenly and I used that fact to my advantage to keep the sink clean. I cannot abide a wet sink. I like it to stay bone dry between uses, and I will tend to dry it several times even while I cook. Anyway, I own a small Kohler sink squeegee with a brush on one side and the rubber blade on the other- 10 dollars on Amazon. I use the tiny bit of water that pools in each corner to push any bits of food coffee grounds down the drain as I squeegee, which helps me to clean the sink as I squeegee. My last sink was stainless and drained perfectly but the squeegee couldn't do its job as well without the water to push away the food particles so it took a bit more rinsing and work. With the Shaw sink I can get the sink clean with a single pass of the squeegee. Either way, I finish by towel drying. I know this is not by design but it works to my advantage. If you have to have a dry sink I would keep the sink and get the squeegee but if you want to let your sink air dry between uses perhaps the Shaw isn't for you.

Oh gosh, I remember agonizing over sinks; I've since moved on to backsplashes. I have no regrets and with my Orca and I do consider it one of my favorite things in my new kitchen. I had a double bowl before this and although my first inclination was to go with a larger single bowl in a anti-double bowl backlash, I noted that I really did use the two sinks for separate functions (smaller with GD for prep-type work, larger for washing). At that point I ruled out the large rectangular single bowl. I kind of thought the Orca was funny-looking when I first saw it, but it grew on me and the more I looked at with the grid system, the more I started to like it. In the end, I have no regrets, I really like the sink. The grids are the best part about it; I love the "tiers" of use. I hadn't seen the accessory sink until I follwed your link. Interesting, but I don't think I need it. I'm not much of a soaker; just about everything gets rinsed and put in the DW immediately or quickly washed under running water and stacked on the grid for a short time to drip dry.
