We're replacing the tub with a shower. I'd like to use a Kohler cast iron shower base, or possibly a solid surface base. I want the threshold to be 5-7 inches tall. The shower can be up to 36-60. I want to use a shower curtain instead of glass shower doors. Is this going to be an impossible search?

We put in the clear shower doors available at Lowes and love them. We squeegee each time and wipe the shower control and tracks with a towel. DH is actually so into it that if I take a shower and fail to do the job, he mentions it. I never thought I would be a squeegee person. I am always in a hurry, but I can do this in less than one minute. Less than one minute to help avoid hours of shower scrubbing. A no-brainer. In my hall bath, I wouldn't let the man put shower doors back in. The tracks got in the way of the Little Girl sitting on the edge of the tub to shave her legs, the shower/toilet area is tiny anyway, and there is little room to maneuver. So, I bought a couple of nice terry (white) shower curtains from HomeGoods. They always have nice and inexpensive shower curtains and other bath supplies. I keep it open so the room doesn't close in on you. Red

We are building our master bathroom with a doorless/curtainless shower. I searched for a decent picture, but this is the best I could come up with from my files. This is "in progress", so you will have to use your imagination a bit. The walls in the room will have a 4' white subway tile wainscoting (up to the ledge below the medicine cabinets). A pedestal sink will sit in front of each of the medicine cabinets. The entire shower will be tiled with the same white subway. The walls on the shower are 7'. A little hard to imagine, but when you walk into the shower, turn left and the controls and nozzle are in the corner towards the sinks so the stream is directed towards the center of the shower, but angled to the back right corner. In the front (at the door) there is a 4" curb. Hope this is helpful. I'm hoping the tile will be complete next week, so if I can get some better pictures then, I'll share if there is any interest.

I asked this question a few weeks ago and our designer helped guide me to our final decision as did input from Houzzers. Our build is pretty high end and I felt like curtain in the kids bath wasn’t vibing with the other choices. However.... We have two small kids, 4 and 18 months. I was envisioning trying to manage the little guy in the tub and reaching around a fixed glass panel or even a sliding glass door and it just didn’t make sense. The designer said it ain’t a huge deal to go in later once they are both bathing independently and install a glass door or panel. So that is what we are going to do. And then find a really nice curtain in the meantime.
