I purchased some hard soaps from bed and bodyworks recently for the first time. What's so special about these soaps or any of the soaps they sell? Which ones have you found to be a favorite?

Well, I am back. Rode my bike to the mall, 7 1/2 miles. Bought 6 bottles, three for my bathroom, three for Jerry's bathroom. Then on the way home I saw a beauty college, where there wasn't one back when I lived in OKC, and I stopped and got a haircut. Now, need to hang out till evening to finish my yard work. My niece was here visiting and the first night she took a bath she came out smelling so good my little dog curled up with her and just kept sniffing, I wanted to do the same thing! It was so yummy. She told me it was the Secret Wonderland from BBW, the next weekend I was there at the mall and bought almost everything they had in that scent. So now I can even shower with it. My cleaning lady said she loves coming here because I and my bathroom smell so wonderful, I ordered her the gift basket of it for Christmas. I have severe scent allergies some things send me straight to my inhaler but luckily this one gives me no problems, neither does that Balsam scent. They really do have some delightful smells.

How do shower bodies even work?

I don't need to know for professional or practical purposes, but I can't stop wondering. I bought a valve. I was told it's scald proof. I thought it would have chambers or a reserve. Nope, it's just a big clunky brass looking thing. How does the mixing work? How does it keep the water from getting hot, when someone flushes or runs cold water in another bathroom?

You must have been thinking of bed, bath and beyond, lol....

I tried their soaps in the past and loved them; hard milled and nicely scented...

I love their products. I use their hand pump soaps all the time. My favorite is white tea ginger.

hard milled means that there is less air beaten into the mix- the opposite of Ivory soap, which is beaten 'fluffy with air, much like soft-serve ice cream. and any hard milled soap is going to last longer than a softer soap.

beyond that- it's all marketting. their soap's no better than Yardely's of London, who at least doesn't make a fuss about their lavendar soap being 'organic' just because they're using real lavendar from plants!
