If you still have the broker piece, use it to make a "prosthetic" leg.( I used a tiny piece of aluminum), then I glue/mix it with JB Weld (black and white mixing paste glue for metal from Home Depot). shape the shaft cross to the original D shape. then let it dry. JB Weld can glue metal and dry as hard as metal. You don't need to make it perfect, as long as the knob can be pushed in and don't fall out. it's usable. hope this helps

Well that's good to know. I now have found the recall notice and according to the federal consumer products safety division there were two reported incidents of scorched floors. No reports of houses being burnt down... Seems the models manufactured in the first 6 months of 2006 are at fault. I will get a serial number and double check whether the unit I have is included in this... Thanks for the heads up...too bad it is such a mediocre model.

Hi. We have a BlueStar RNB36 that we've had for over 12 years. It needs a new oven burner and surface igniter. It does a good job of getting up to temperature, but has a hard time staying there after you open the door. I have a pretty good idea on what to do to change the surface igniter but have never swapped out an oven burner. Looks pretty simple but wondering if any BlueStar owners have done this work themselves. I paid $100 to a repair company to just tell me that they need to be replaced and don't want to spend another $200-$300 for what appears to be a simple 20-30 minute job. I can also get the parts for a lot less than the repair company wants to charge. I've replaced the burner igniters myself and am pretty handy. Thanks.
