Hi everyone, I just posted this in the kitchen forum, but since I also want to use it in a bathroom, thought I would post here as well. Has anyone used this product? It looks like thassos but doesn't stain, b/c it is glass. Supposedly, you can clean it very easily. It goes by various names: glassos, thassos glass, milk glass, etc. I would love to hear your feedback. Who did you buy it from? How much did you pay? What room did you put it in? Was your contractor familiar with it? Has it held up (or did it scratch?) I'm considering using this on the kitchen and guest bath floors. I haven't bought from Glass Tile but I know others on here have. One thing you need to look at though is actually the price per square ft or per tile.The tiles you linked are 4x12 so you would need three tiles per sq. ft. Some smaller 3x6 glass tiles on there website sell for $4.62 a piece. The 4x12 are $8.11 a piece. You only need 3 of the larger tiles for a sq. ft but 8 of the smaller ones for a sq.ft. So while they are still pricey, it would be less expensive to use them than the smaller size. Approximately $24 for the large per sq. ft and $37/sq.ft for the smaller (I hope I did the math correctly!) The glass and stone mosaic tile that I used was $19sq.ft from a local store many of the simliar mosaics shown on the website are higher than that. I bought mine at a local flooring store. They were cheaper than tiles store so be sure to check flooring stores as well.

Thanks Upa! So you'd stick with the Cambria Whitney I have pictured? Or go with the marble? :) I'm having the house painted by the builder in Dunn Edwards White. It's just a white white. Which will basically be a base coat. Then, I'm hiring painters to come do the actual painting. Apparently the guys I've hired are awesome with color - as in some people just let them pick. I'm too involved for that, but I'm looking forward to their suggestions. I'd do something safe like a soft/cool gray, but I probably need to get some color going. Suggestions on that? =) The good news is, because I'm hiring my own painters after the fact, I don't have to decide color now. I can do that once the house is finished. Whew. One decision I can postpone. I will get it done before I move in, however... given that I have 4 dogs. :) Oh, and I will leave the baseboards and trim the white.

Oh man. Was this his first time using glass tile?? He should have sealed the grout only (glass is non-porous) with an appropriate applicator. It's time consuming to do it properly, but this is why you (or the people you hire) don't (shouldn't) cut corners. There is one non-toxic product that might help. He can (and I mean he, not you) try this stuff, made to scrub off sealer from tile. I don't know whether it will work, but I hope so. Removing glass tile is not easy (ask me how I know - better yet, ask me about the surgery I had on my right hand to remove a shard of glass that lodged in my tendon). If it does work, he will then have to seal the grout correctly. Good luck! Here is a link that might be useful: AquaMix
