Miele Oven Screeching Racks - Do Your Miele Racks Sreech?
Comments (5)Wondering if you broke in the oven as they suggest by running it for something like an hour at 500 (or whatever the manual says to do)? Never had any noise from the racks. If you didn't do the break-in it may be that and I'd do it. Otherwise I'd call and ask them about the cause....See MoreShowdown Miele Wall Oven vs Miele Speed Oven
Comments (4)This is not a direct answer to your question but something you may want to think about. Do you use your regular microwave alot during meal preperation? I do, to heat leftovers, cook, etc. I hate washing pots and I don't like cooked food standing around while something else is in the process of being cooked. I have an excellent convection microwave as my "second oven" which I can use to do almost everything I can do in my large oven. However, I came to realize that if I use my conv/micro wave as my primary oven to cook my main dish, then I can't use it as my microwave to warm the veggies, etc. at the same time. I often laugh when I think, "wow, this is great, I need another microwave". If you cook like me, you may want to consider this. Just a thought....See MoreWhy do you love your Gaggenau ovens?
Comments (1)Mine are waiting in the appliance store warehouse, but I bought them because I love my mother's so much. She's had it over 10 years, and it's fantastic! I keep saying this here, but year after year, tray after tray of the same hors d'oeuvre or cookies goes in at the same temperature setting for the same length of time, first tray, last tray and in between. There's no checking on them, letting them get just a little browner, or any of that fuss. Put 'em in, take 'em out. What a timesaver! I think it was Mindstorm who posted a table last year about the engineering. Many of the top ovens have a variance of 7-10 degrees more or less than the set temperature. That's really top notch. Gaggenau was +/- 4 degrees! That's not a significant difference (you'll never notice the difference between an oven with an 8 degree variation and a 14 degree variation) but it says something about the engineering. The company is not known for it's great customer service, however. For that go to Miele. But they do stand behind their products, and if you live in an area where there are good people on this end, then the service is quite good. In the L.A. area there's a good service (as in fix-it) company, and in Northern and Southern California the distributors, Purcell Murray, has showrooms (one in each place). At the showrooms you can see everything and use it, and they have classes and stuff. Baking is great. I haven't personally used the high broil. But the top cook at the caterer chooses to do my mother's big annual party because he loves her Gaggenau oven....See MoreMiele oven owners, are you happy with your choice?
Comments (13)I have used my double 30" for over a year. Everything from probe for roasting turkey to rotisserie for chickens and baking bread 1 -2 x a week. I too have posted detailed reviews like roccoco girl. You can search and see if they are still around. I hace perfect Clean and have had no problem with it as long as you wipe the oven down after each messy use. But if you don't do that even with self clean the oven will be a mess and stink. If you do high heat roasting or the rotisserie you have to wipe out the oven or self clean immediately after use as it makes a mess. As far as I am concerned there is no better appliance. I also open the oven door for cool down and it only takes a couple minutes of fan running. Otherwise it does take a while. Not too noisy, no louder obviously than when preheating.
