Wow Viking is the worst. I bought all of my Viking appliances right before Covid hit and had to keep them in storage for about a year. Since install my oven doesn’t work and I had to replace all of my gas burners because my daughter had tomato soup boil over. All 4 burners were toast because one boil over!! That was over a thousand dollars in repair. But wait it gets better now my dishwasher won’t work. One day while unloading it I tipped over a bowl with water in it and the lights in the dishwasher automatically went off and I haven’t been able to use it since. I tried to switch the breaker off to make sure it wasn’t a reset issue. These appliances were the worst decision in my life and have caused me nothing but agony since.

Paddyspub1 - thanks - so you have this fridge? I haven't seen the rope trim kit for it?? I have asked the cabinetmaker to make the opening high enough to accommodate the grille kit. He has the specs so hopefully it works out! He's also going to make a trim piece in case I don't get the grille. I like to have the option later on! JAM_SF - well it's good to hear the fridge is a good fridge! The cabinetry will be built around it too, so I suppose either way it will look good.

We've been plenty happy with our 48" all gas (converted to lp) Viking for almost 5 years now. We did have a period when the burners weren't lighting well. We keep matches in a nearby drawer so it wasn't a problem (we were used to it---we had to do the same thing with our old stove.) But the problem seems to have righted itself and it's probably been over a year since I've needed a match (except during the ice storm last winter when we didn't have elec. for a few days.) I'm happy with the ovens. They bake evenly. DH wanted the Viking because it was black. I had fallen in love with a different ss 48" range but the small oven wouldn't fit my most often used baking dishes (Pyrex pie plate and 9x13 baker.) They fit fine in the Viking and I use the small oven about 90% of the time. I'm glad DH pushed his choice because it's been a great addition to our kitchen.

yes have electric 3 yrs old & propane fueled 7 yrs old in different homes. no issues w doors (except to adapt to left closing). both perform well. electric more bells whistles being newer.. digital and pizza stone. however on advice on tech (we had 1 svc call for faulty thermostat ez repair but they pulled entire panel and replaced), pizza stone carefully removed, stored. this way oven heats and cools faster. note that neither throws excessive heat into space. trade off is a fan running to aid slow deliberate cool down. this might annoy in an open space eat in kitchen. our fan friendly oven is installed in walk in pantry utility room that houses freezer and extra refrig (main kitchen has 30" Leibherr)
