Reflection on 2008 growing season

I'm leisurely going through my catalogs (still waiting for a couple before I start to purchase) and I thought I might reflect a bit on last year's season... (not the best tomato growing season for me in Z5 NE but good enough to reflect upon).

Here it is anyway...

2008 I threw tomatoes in where ever I could get them in. This was previously a flower bed...

2008 brought some AMAZING blooms in abundance...

I waited anxiously and took many pictures along the way:

My first tom came from a greenhouse that I donate plants to:

This was my first:

Whoa baby!

Before I knew it I had a jungle:

Can't even see the cages (5' tall):

Met some new toms I adored:

Cherokee Green:

Ananas Noire:

Indian Stripe: (no I'm not including that whacko one I had late season that I tried to ripen on the counter!)

A friend is urging me to try this one again (it was late for me, but I'll try it again). Berkeley Tie Dye:

All in all it was an okay year:

On another note I had the back yard dug up and put in a new patio:

And adopted a new (rescue) pup:

Looking forward to next year!!
