It has no open wounds or odor. I havent seen it on many peach trees and it took me a while to actually figure out what it was but it causes the tips of branches to turn black and die and slowly cause the entire stem/branch to die back if not cut at least 12" below the infected area. I have yet to see any open "sores" or cankers on the tree, just the tip/branch die back. Also, I havent had any die back for an entire season, so I hope I have dealt with it. I almost lost my entire tree because the main stem became infected and was dying down before I knew it. I had to cut down to almost the bottom of the trees "graft". It has stopped now for almost 2 years. My tree is about 3-4 years old but is somewhat small due to the first 2 years dealing with the die back. Ive never seen the inside of a cut branch of a peach tree so I was wondering if that picture up above looked normal? That is from a 2 year old branch. I sent out about 12 of these sets to my family, labeled "the hot one" and "the mild one". nice christmas colors too. the mild one isn't that mild, until you compare it to the hot one. also, I picked ripe pods today. and have close to 30 seedlings, sitting out in my back yard. merry christmas from florida.
