Microwave/oven combo installed in new build 2018. "F2" error message July of 2022, so whole unit out of commission. (Homebuilder has same unit, same outcome.) Jenn-air said right off the bat we'd have to wait a while for the replacement control board. Just had yet another contact with them, during which they insist there's been no recall over that part, but they still cannot provide that part (?) and would I like to put us on a list to go to an internal review board, for consideration of a pro-rated replacement unit. My 2 questions: why would we WANT another Jenn-air?? and if they can't cough up the part because of demand ... how is there NOT a recall? I asked if they couldn't "rob" a part off a set in inventory, and the tech acted like he didn't understand the question. So, here we are. Oh, yeah, and on my first contact, I gave them the model number and serial number, and they asked ME for the part #!! How would I know the damn part #???

I have a JennAir CD french door fridge. It will be 2 years old next month. (And JennAir is owned and made by Whirlpool since 2006 I believe.) Anyway, I do love this fridge. Just last week I had my first issue. Water was leaking out the bottom. It seems to be the drain plug freezes and sends water down through the bottom freezer and out the bottom onto the floor. I wiped it all down and it's ok for now, but will need to be fixed. I read about this very problem on Whirlpool bottom freezer fridges (which we just purchased for our basement). I never read about the issue on a JennAir, but it makes sense since they are pretty much the same fridge. I haven't contacted JennAir yet for service - not sure if it's covered in the 2-5 year warranty or not. We'll see. I really love the looks and function of the JennAir fridge though.

I have a Kenmore SS fridge, made by Whirlpool. It's three years old and has never even flinched at us. We chose it because it was ginormous and has a very bright interior. While looking at some models, you could tell that you'd need a flash light if you put any food in there. I just bought my home and it came with the original 1982 Jenn-Air drop-in range / oven. I don't care for the down-draft ventilation at all. Whoever thought that up was an oaf. Functionally, after 25 years, it's "fair". There's one thing that should be mentioned: "Brand" is no guarantee of quality or reliability anymore. (And you asked about reliability). Most manufacturers contract out the manufacture of their parts, so Company A in China makes the leaded water lines for your fridge and Company B makes the valves for the gas stove. Someone else puts them all together and calls them the brand of the day. The Brands merely "spec" the parts and the manufacturers produce to specs. And if the CEO wants a bigger bonus, they can allow lower-quality plastics, etc, in the middle of a production run. What a Brand does get you is specific kinds of service and support. Bosch may jump all over the chance to wow you on the rebound of a problem, yet the Jenn-Air group may not.

Just had to have the cooling fan replaced in our range. Jenn-air covered the part, we paid for the labor. Had some serious issues with the Jenn-air local repair contractors: We started getting an error code that the cooling fan speed was too low and as a result the oven would not function. (basically this cooling fan runs once the oven temp gets above a certain level to keep the electronic panel cool). Contacted Jenn-air and they scheduled an appointment with their local repair contractor. On the date of the appointment the tech didn't actually show up. He called and said they needed to replace the fan and that he'd order the part and call when it came in. A week or so later the guy just showed up at my door unannounced. PITA but whatever. The guy tore down the top of the range and claimed the wire connection was loose. He tightened it and it seemed to solve the issue. However, after he left I noticed that the tech did a terrible job re-assembling the top of the range. Called them back and they sent out a second tech to fix it. He did a better job but it was still not reassembled correctly. A few weeks go by and again the same problem occurs. Call Jenn-air again and schedule another appointment. On the day of the appointment again I get a call saying they will order the part and call when it comes in. A week goes by. at this point we are week out from Christmas and the wife is starting to freak out that we will not have an oven to cook christmas dinner. So I call the repair company to get an update. The dispatcher says she doesn't know if the part is in but would have the tech call back. a few hours later the tech leaves a voicemail stating that they will not be coming back out to repair the oven and I should call someone else. WTF!?! At this point I'm super pissed. I call Jenn-air and to their credit there were pretty responsive. They set me up with a different repair outfit. They had to come out twice because the first time the replacement part was broken. Eventually it got fixed and we now have a functioning oven.
