I can only speak to the Bosch which I've had for about 8 months. I'm happy with the oven, in particular the adjustability down to 100 deg. Yes I'm fairly well-versed in food safety, but sometimes you just need a big warming drawer. The 10-pass broiler is hot and even. The cooling fan does run a lot, but I don't find it offending in either noise or heat output. Less enthused with the cooktop. While the wattage specs on the highest burner are good, you need cookware with approx 11.5" base to utilize it. Your standard 8qt tall stock pot only takes two rings and is therefore dreadfully slow to boil on any burner. On the other end of the spectrum the low is higher than I'm used to. The Schott Ceran is significantly more sensitive than my previous Frigidaire. I had chips within weeks of using it, more now, the silver pattern seems to clean off, and in general I find it poor quality. The paint on the knobs peeled off at first cleaning; fortunately Bosch was aware of the problem and sent me a new set which has help up thus far. Overall, there's a lot to like about the oven but enough to dislike about the cooktop to where I wouldn't recommend it. My #1 takeaway would be to look for a power burner that matches the diameter of your most used cookware, in my case a 12" skillet and 8qt tall stock pot.

It looks like the semi sealed burners that Wolf had that were discontinued. I can't comment on them because I haven't cooked with them but there are some threads about them. The Wolf AG ranges had them until recently. You have to be a little careful reading about them because I have seen comments about "Wolf burners" without differentiating them from the sealed burners. This usually comes from the detractors of Wolf.

Okay if it's not such a big place, you can consider how import is a 48in frig? If you foresee any back or knee problems, a wall oven is a better option. The microwave can be a drawer micro. Looking at both cooktop and rangetop. It all depends what style you like. In a cooktop your countertop is cut and all your knobs are on top. So it's right next to hot pots and pans. In the rangetop all knobs are in front away from the pots. Plus it's a nice look! You will enjoy cooking with gas. Ask your electrician what can go together. Subzero 36-42 frig, 36 Rangetop, Wall Oven, Speed/Steam Oven, microwave drawer. IMHO, if your going Subzero for the frig, I would not do a cooktop.

Thanks so much for the replies. For those interested this is a new construction so there's not much for photos. The kitchen will be L shaped with a 4x7.5' island. I'm not sure on my budget for the stone but I believe I can go up a bit in price if need be. Right now I'd say mid range is my price point. I appreciate the photos poohpup and the input gr8day and herbflavor. I was considering something leathered with not a lot of movement for the perimeter and maybe something wilder on the island. Any more pics that anyone has to share would be greatly appreciated.
