I'm sorry to say that I'm not a veggie grower, I stick to pretty flowers, so I can't speak from personal experience. But other wintersowers grow all kinds of vegetables, with great success. They grow about any all all tomatoes and some don't plant them until spring. You need not feel rushed to plant on the solstice as some of us "wintersow" all year 'round. Basically it involves using the same recyclable containers, the same method, and planting at times other than winter, too. For me, I have only done flowers. Most of us begin in winter with perennials and hardy annuals, waiting until spring for very tender things like zinnias. It works extremely well and in spring we have literally thousands of seedlings. We have our own seed exchange, linked just above the threads on page 1 of the forum. See Trudi's offer listed there Stick around and some expert will come along to help you. Welcome to the forum, we're happy to have you. Karen Here is a link that might be useful: Trudi's offer

I can't help with the Ohio part either, but here are some other suggestions: 1. Ask the bride for alternative recommendations! After all, it's her wedding! 2. Call the church secretary where the wedding is being held. She'll know the area and probably know where most rehearsal dinners are held. 3. Find a chain of restaurants you like in YOUR area and find out if they have one in Lorain. 4. Start phoning hotels in the areas and ask if they have a small banquet room as part of their restaurant facility. Hope this helps!

yes, kublakan, actually I am new to both roses and gardening. I bought this house 3 years age and started to plant roses around spring time of 2013. I really like roses and peonies. Thanks.

Thanks to all of you for the warm welcome, and the very nice things you had to say about my garden. You all overlooked the weeds, too, which was very kind of you. I am sending the other pictures I took today, and then we will have to see whether one of my sons is prepared to assist me through the process again. Look at the little mini - hiding under the leaf in the right hand bottom corner. I think it is Pandora's Box. THe large one is H. Tokudama Flavocivinalis. And finally... This area really needs watering. I really need to get to it because (horrors!) our local Hort Society has put me on their Garden Tour. If you don't hear from me much in the next week or two it is become I am panicking. My wife said I should have said no. I think she was right. Just to make myself feel better, I purchased some new hostas yesterday (new to me, not necessarily new), including The King, Tickle Me Pink, Erotica, and a mini called Woodland Elf. All very special. Anyway, enough pictures and enough about my troubles and shopping. I have been reading back into the forum and I have to tell you that the pictures and advice given are really helpful and there are garden pictures there that left me speechless with their artistry. You should all be very proud of the gardens you have created. I look forward to more pictures of all of them.
