I'm sorry if this message is too late, but, if this is the mini-dome type incubator, I have never had good luck with them. They are too hard to keep the humidity inside, and humidity is crucial to hatching. Everytime you go in to rotate the eggs....there goes the moisture you need and temperature fluctuations too. I know it seems like a good deal for the price, but I upgraded to a styrofoam type incubator with a fan and automatic turner. It pays for itself with a better hatch. Bonnie

I tried hatching out quail eggs from an incubator several times mostly unsuccessfully. I did hear that humidity is important. Also I heard you should NOT touch the eggs with your hands or fingers. I had numerous chicks that couldn't make it out of the egg, and also numerous times I tried to help them out of the egg, and they were never healthy. I also had quit a number that hatched, but had deformed legs and couldn't walk right. It was very heartbreaking. I did have 2 occassions where the hen actually did hatch out a couple babies (out of many eggs) and they are the cutest things on earth. I call them bumblebees! Even the other quail in the pen would sit on them to keep them warm. I really enjoyed them. I don't have them anymore and do miss them.

They most likely have hatched into tadpoles. It just takes a few days for this to happen. The tadpoles usually hang around where they hatch for another day or two, but are very hard to see. Your fish may eat the tadpoles. Tadpoles are one of the best natural algae controls you can get. Of course when they morph no more algae control, lol.

Karen - Seems your female is a bit ahead of schedule... But I would hope you still have a good chance for hatchlings if she's incubating and staying in the box a lot. I suspect she knows she has to keep those eggs warm, and will try to. Connie - Sorry I know next to nothing about ducks. I would worry too if they're not incubating yet. Our Missy Blue has been incubating 5 blue eggs day and night for the past 10days. She spends most of her time on the nest, with just short breaks during the day. Her Mr.B is feeding her thru the hole like a champ. It's also a good bit warmer here I'm sure, altho we've approached freezing two nights since the last egg was laid.
