I had a show on Saturday and it was fantastic - you are right, people are out and buying! It pays to find well-established large shows - this was a very large one and cost me $90 to participate. It was a juried show and cost the public $2 to attend. The money went for the band. Interestingly enough, I have found that I do best at shows that cost the public to attend. Those are the most serious buyers. I did want to mention that in my mad dash around the school to check out the other vendors before the show started, I came across a gal selling concrete mushrooms and leaf birdbaths. They were nicely done and her display definitely stood out amongst the USUAL (boring) same olds, and I ended up buying a large mushroom from her for $15. I did compliment her on her prices and for having unique items! My mushroom is still packed away in an empty box I brought home. I wish I could have made it back to the gym while we were packing up to talk to her again and see how well she did.

Mantis_OH : This is the first year for QUALITY OF LIFE so I really can't comment on the hype. TOODLES AND DOODLES was hybridized by a friend of mine from MD and it is also in its first year here. Another grower in MD has had it for years and he says that it is a good grower. This is also JAY FARQUHAR's first year here as well. One bloom looked terrible and it seems to have gotten that out of its system. David

Thanks all for the comments. The horses do sound better than honking horns. When we visit our daughter in NYC, that is all we hear for the first few nights and then we get use to it. RUBY STELLA is a small bloom, not tall, but it does put out alot of blooms each season. This year it gets moved to the back beds but I have so much of it that I need to get rid of some of it. CERISE MASTERPIECE had beautiful blooms this year and so glad I took the chance on it. I got it from seller Cajunkid (Kip Schriefer) on the LA last spring. He sent really nice, well rooted double fans. NO RUST! PEACHES AND GOLD did not send up alot of scapes this year. Still a pretty bloom and looks good next to CANTER. Lots of on and off showers today and more rain on the way for tomorrow. Julia
