Well, I'm not up on crocodilians but that does not look like a crocodile to me. More like an alligator or caiman. Can anyone I.D. the animal?

ZACK

By Ogden Nash:

I give you now Professor Twist,
A conscientious scientist,
Trustees exclaimed, "He never bungles!"
And sent him off to distant jungles.
Camped on a tropic riverside,
One day he missed his loving bride.
She had, the guide informed him later,
Been eaten by an alligator.
Professor Twist could not but smile.
"You mean," he said, "a crocodile.

That is an American alligator from a contruction site in Florida taken last summer. The rattlesnakes I'm not sure about but I have seen that picture before labeled as Prairie rattlesnakes.

As far as the Croc with the person in its belly I believe taht is from Mexico or Central America and I belive it just ate a body it found in the water and didn't actually kill the guy.

The rattlesnakes obviously aren't from Brazil since they are Prarie rattlesnakes. I got this email with those exact photos before from a coworker saying they were from a construction site at the Orlando Florida airport where her brother worked. They had no response when I pointed out the prairie rattlesnakes were not a Florida species. Check Snopes.com--the origins of these photos are almost never what the e-mail says they are.

I think you meant quite a CROCK! ;-)

The rattlesnakes are prairie rattlesnakes from a culvert den in New Mexico.

The alligator in the 2nd picture is from Florida and is posed to look bigger than it is, though it is still a big gator.

The pictures with human limbs are probably complete hoaxes and in any rate they didn't come from the alligator in the 2nd picture.

I saw the first two pictures about 2 years ago and then the story then was that they came from a construction site at Disney or at an airport in Florida. I knew something was fishy because the rattlesnakes (which were identified as diamondbacks in the email) are clearly prairie rattlesnakes and not eastern diamondbacks. I eventually tracked down the origin of the rattlesnake picture as being a routine picture of a culvert den in New Mexico and not some stumbled upon surprise cache of rattlesnakes.

There is another common hoax that keeps reappearing which shows an anaconda that has supposedly eaten a sleeping oil worker. The picture is actually of an anaconda or python that has eaten a goat and the later frames showing the human body being pulled out are faked.

It's always fun to track down where these things originated. I'll see if I can find more information on the latter pictures.

The picture is apparently taken in 1997 and is a saltwater crocodile from Borneo.

The previous urban legend had it being a golf course alligator swallowing a Floridian golfer.

I thought the bystander in the croc photo looked more Asian/Indonesian than Latin American. Not to mention I think Brazil might only have Caimans and not large Crocodiles.

Black Caimans can get up to 20 feet long.
