A Whole Lot of Bull! (pics)

Adam and I went down to the sand prairies south of Chicago to see if we could find some Bullsnakes. The temperatures started off near 80, and we figured we would have pretty good luck. Our first find was this Bullsnake under some tin.

A few minutes later I found this yearling Bullsnake under more tin.

Later on we literally felt the temperature drop. It got cloudy, and the wind picked up. It went from warm to cold in a matter of minutes. Right about that time, I found this adult Blue Racer.

You can really see why they are called Blue Racers:

We saw many Six Lined Racerunners over the course of the day, and after many trys, I finally caught a few and got them to sit still long enough to take some pictures.

At one junkyard, Adam found this yearling Glass Lizard under some cover. It was about 5 inches long.

We soon found a couple more Bullsnakes, when we finally found a very large one. It was over 5 feet, but was very calm, unlike some of the smaller ones we had seen.

Our last find was an adult Glass lizard, which Adam found inside a log.

I feel we had a pretty good day. We saw a total of 8 Bullsnakes, 3 Blue Racers, 2 Glass Lizards any a million Six Lined Racerunners, of which we caught 3.

Hope you enjoyed, thanks for looking.
