To @abstract101, after my horrendous experience with my newly installed Caesarstone countertop, on which smudges and stains would appear and could not be removed with cleaning (even with products recommended by CS) and the total lack of support or responsibility taken by CS itself in selling products that it must have known were defective and not suitable for kitchen use,, I replaced mine with another quartz product, Silestone. Have had no problems since. My designer and contractor have sworn off recommending any CS product to any of their clients,,,,,hopefully with all these bad reviews, word will spread and their profitability will take a hit, big time! i think there was/is a class action lawsuit for CS that was purchased through IKEA, but unfortunately that was not my situation…..and also, I am in Canada so would not be covered by a US class action anyway. At all costs, avoid CS, and spread the word.

We've had three 45 " wide x 80" tall PELLA doors/windows with internal blinds - one sliding door flanked by two matching windows. I use them frequently. Up for full glass, down and flat, at a slant or fully closed depending on the sunlight. They've been in for almost 9 yrs. with no problems. I don't think changing the blind would be a problem, the interior glass is a panel that swings open if necessary. Very well insulated and they block exterior sound. And I don't have to dust them.

So I guess I've read conflicting advice: 1) Makeup air should not be too close to the hood, and should be diffused into the room. 2) Makeup air should be close to the exhaust point to minimize the effect on indoor air. Is #1 only relevant if I'm ducting the makeup air through the HVAC ducts? I see a video like this where the intake air is directly in front of the hood aperature, and what I see is the hood pulling up all of the cooktop effluent AND all of the intake air, with none of the intake air mixing into the room ... This looks pretty ideal! (I'm not going to build anything like that, but my hood will be close to the center of the house, with an 8' ceiling, directly below a large, open attic. I could easily place a dedicated MUAS above the hood, with a Wolf remote blower and a FanTech MUAS supply hood mounted at the proper distance to either side of the roof. Is this as ideal as I think it is?) I'm already going overboard with ventilation so if I can avoid complicated engineering, duct heaters, and dedicated dehumidifiers, that would be great.

Hi, just wondering if I could get some feedback on the quality of Serena and Lily furniture. Are they still made by Lee industries? Initially, I was concerned with picking out a fabric bag would not pill. They are pushing their perennials fabric and can’t guarantee that it won’t pill. It’s made of nylon which makes me worry about pilling. This will be put in a pool house, so we are looking for some thing that is washable and durable. I have a sofa in my house that needs to be shaved regularly and I’d like to avoid that! I was initially thinking we would go with a cotton blend but many furniture stores seem to be pushing these performance fabrics. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! I’m supposed to be placing an order today.
