This morning I saw several toads racing out of a flowerbed and across the yard. Moments later I saw a 4-5 foot long snake slithering after one of them, but he retreated when he saw me. About an hour later, I found him again, this time he had gotten one. The shots are stills from video, so the resolution isn't that great. The last photo is a little gory. Can anyone tell me what kind of snake this is?
