Hello and thank you both for the replies. Jean001a, you are correct about the pointy end being the head and the blunt/flat end being the rear. I mis-typed that part in my initial message. I took another closer look at them after I wrote that message and noticed they were slithering with the pointy end forward. :) So these are basically like house flies? Gez, I never knew they start out as these little worms (larva). My poor ol 7 gallon grape tree container is loaded with these larva's. There must be over 100 of them... :\ I also noticed them in my nectarine container. Heck, they may be in all my buckets. :( So the obvious question/concerns on my part is are they or can they be harmful to my plants? I read that they feed off manure. Do they also feed on the roots of the plants and will they take away nutrients or minerals that my plant may be needing? I really hate the thought of raising flies. From a gardeners perspective, would one usually attempt to get rid/kill them?

Dev, it's important the soil drys between waterings..if you keep it constantly wet, you'll have nothing but problems. For one thing your tree can get mold, but worse, root rot. I don't believe in watering schedules..water only when a plant is dry..this applies to most plants, not only citrus. There are different ways to determine if the soil is dry..one is by using a water guage; they go from 15.00 and up. The second is stick finger deep in soil..if your finger comes out wet, wait a few days and recheck..if it comes out dry then water..the third way is by lifting the plant..if it's heavy then soil is still wet..If light then it's time to give a drink..When you do water, do so thoroughly. Do so until water seeps out of drainage holes. Water in circular motions so all parts of roots get a drink. Is your soil well-draining? Toni

Ken, if you knew anything about the phalaenopsis orchid you would know that it DOES need fertilizer that often. Mine (at the time of this post) was re-blooming. I let it drop all of the original blooms and I began the normal regimen to rebloom the plant. When you go through this regimen the phal gets fertilized once a week weakly. Once the blooms come in the plant the gets fertilized every two to three weeks after. The reason for this is to keep the nitrogen an phosphate levels up so the plant doesn't die. I am aware that it is a PLANT Ken. But all plants need fertilizer. And your post has nothing to do with the thread like worm that I found in the pot. BTW, phal orchids don't like sitting in water. That is why you drain out the excess water. And FYI I treat my phals like I treat my children, and that is with lots of love and respect. And that is why my plant is so healthy now. As my pic shows. Next time leave info that helps.

My best guess would be wire worms. The photo linked below shows them in later stages but they are white early on and a common pest in rice fields. Since the larvae can survive for years in cereal crops and it is their favorite crops, I would guess they came in with the rice hulls.
