Would the lil' guy on top be the male? First time seeing one.

Looks like a couple to me. Great capture of the Black and Yellow Argiope. BTW, all of ours are named Charlotte.

"Female spiders are much larger than males, growing almost an inch and a half long. Males grow about 3/4 inch long."

Kewl! I love these guys! I see a female alone much more often than with a male.
I snapped one just like this the other day. When I took a step toward her, she started bouncing.

B, some of mine are 6-8 inches tall and some are between 12-18 inches tall. I just love them, and I love the cosmos sunset too. They are awesome seed producers too. very fitting name you've chose, I am sure Jeff will love it. Now that you got it out of that crowded bed it was in you can give it some room, as I am sure it will be a monster. Good pic of the pooch, Ole was being good that day, really he has only been out visiting a couple times and that was a 4 hr drive each way and then on his leash most of the time at LotG. He is only 5 months old now. I have to add his registered name is Ole Giboshi Finnson ........"the Hosta Doberman" and is the hosta protector here.

I'm imagining all of us caravaning across the country with our motor homes stopping to eat and shop and "enable" each other!LOL I'm sure trying to do some of that anyway. Have one big problem so far--getting DH to STOP so I can shop! LOL He tends to just want to stay on the Interstates bypassing all the towns that I think would be fun to stop and explore and keeping the "pedal to the metal". I'm trying to get him to understand that there are lots of neat places to visit along the way. Luvs

It wouldn't bother me, but I'm not as obsessive about shades as most people. I understand them, and can advise based on that understanding, but I guess it just doesn't bother me as much. If it were the tile that were shaded, that'd be a different story- that drives me BONKERS. As for the actual usage, it's alot different. Below is a link to another forum thread. Read reply #2.
