Hi! Thank you everyone who had responded to my post. I had finally found out what plant this is. It is a sansevieria cylindrica. It is one of the weirdest plants I've ever seen. I returned to the store and had asked one of the salespeople what this plant was (Which is what I should've done in the first place...). The salesperson was so nice, she even placed an order for some sansevieria to be delivered the following day. Again, thank you for all of the responses. Everyone had brought up names and photos of plants I have always been curious about and have wanted to buy, but have never known what to call them by way of identification. Sincerely, mbluetyphoon

I purchased a small staghorn fern in a pot about 2 yrs ago... The good news is, it's still alive. But, don't they prefer peat moss, and hanging on a peice of wood? Or perhaps someone could tell me what conditions they prefer-- Like full sun, filtered sun, shade, how much water, soil, , fertilizer, etc. Mine has managed to stay alive this long but it hasn't grown a whole lot either. Neat!! We usually have barred owls around here, but last year there was a great horned with a baby. It was fun listening to them talk to and follow each other through the woods. Thanks for sharing!

You'd think the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service would recognize the difference between a Great-horned Owl and Eurasian Eagle Owl. Good catch. I left them a message on the Flickr link that this photo came from. Wonder if I'll get a response to that. Actually, went back in there and found several mis-ID'd raptors. Weird. I expected better.
