Those are the wrong snails to use for escargot. You need the much large brown garden snails. That said, cross your fingers that you don't have them in your area. As far as I'm aware, your snails are mainly scavengers. But the kind of snail varies from one part of the country to another -- where do you live anyway? -- as well as their dietary habits. You might run your image past the folks in your county's Extension Service office to determine if your little snails should be a source of fear & loathing. I am not even *remotely* an expert, and I have no idea what specific bugs you've got, but... soapy water makes a lot of different bugs sad, and afaik tends to do minimal harm to plants. Worth a shot, at least, right?

Whatever kind of bug it is, they feed/attach themselves near the stem connecting the tree to the fruit. After a day or two, the fig attached via that stem dies. Not sure what they are or how to treat them. Tried neem oil which didn't seem to help but then resorting to going through and manually getting rid of them before they damage all the rest of my figs.
