Wendy - butterfly bush is very easy to grow via WS. I WS seeds from Token my first year and they all bloomed this year. Very high seed germination rate with WS. Yes, you can send SASBE for seeds. Cashclan - didn't see anything on your trade list I'm interested in. Do you want the seeds for postage/address label?

The Zebras are the main reason why I wanted to try growing Paw Paw from seed last fall. I have three baby trees growing in gallon size pots and will remain in them for the next year or two until they are big enough to go into the ground without my boyfriend running them over with the mower. They are the food source for the Zebra Swallowtail's caterpillars. Also, I'm curious as to what the fruit tastes like. Karen

coolbutterfly, that is exactly what I plan to do! I've started a few others from cuttings, it's so easy. I just trimmed some of my larger ones in a hedgerow and stuck the cuttings (from the ones that are leafed out) into the dirt next to some that aren't showing growth yet. I managed to start a bicolor that way, I figured it's worth a shot. Just water the heck out of them and see if it works. Has your sky blue bloomed yet? The photos make it look like a wonderful light blue but I wonder if it really is. I've been wanting an Ivory, but I'm going to see if any of my Purple Emperor come back first, since they occupy the best spot to put in the Ivory. So far it's not looking so good, but I did find a brand new little leaflet on a Blue Chip last night so maybe there's still a chance.

Ok Now I am not sure again. I was thinking that I saw a Banded Hairstreak because on the butterfly atlas webpage I was looking at, the picture looked a bit darker than the other choices, but after reading up on it, it seems the Edward's Hairstreak and the Striped Hairstreak are more common in my area. The spots near the tail are perfect for what I saw, but none look dark enough. I didn't notice a striped or spotted pattern on the wings, just the color spots. Can butterflies vary that much in their shading or should I just chalk it up to not seeing something well. Thanks again! Lisa Here is a link that might be useful: Massachusetts Butterfly Access
