What kind of animal catches fish?
Comments (5)Raccoon would be the number one culprit. Something could have scared it off before it finished it's meal. Sometimes they catch more than they can eat too. It is common to find bones, fins or scales when they've dined. Birds eat fish whole. Raccoons don't. Fishing cats aren't common. Fantails don't swim very well, they wiggle at the top of the water and are more likely to be eaten by predators than comets , commons or shubunkins who can all swim faster and deeper....See MoreCurious what kind of Animal Poop this is???
Comments (4)Could be a "sick" animal...most often with some pathogen like GIARDIA which can be transferred to humans or pets through contact. Obviously you aren't going to touch it on purpose but just be wary that sickness is a distinct possibility esp. if you have any pets that also access this area. If pets are sniffing around or even eating animal excrement they are in a position to get diseases carried in the intestinal tract of wild animals. I would be inclined to take a shovel out there and cover over it with fresh soil IF you have a pet who roams in the area. Barb...See MoreWhat kind of animal scat is this?
Comments (2)Hard to know. It doesn't look like what my cats produce, but they eat cat food. It could be fox or coyote. Where do you live? Is there enough wild area around to support wildlife such as fox, etc? Martha...See MoreWhat kind of animal do you think it is? I am from the netherlands
Comments (9)Not a weasel nor a stoat. It is too big and "shaggy" for that. The only other mustelids in the Netherlands are two species of Marten and it isn't either of those. In the IR light used to film this, you can see that the pelage over most of the body is lighter hairs with dark tips. Furthermore, it is darker towards the posterior part of the body. Those characteristics are a match for Polecat. The only other option I can see is that it is a feral Ferret. I hope not....See Moreffb613
