Caterpillar identification

Hello, I need help identifying this caterpillar(?). It's so plain that I'm having a hard time identifying him. He was found in Colorado on a store bought carnation and I'm trying to care for him, but he's not eating, so I'm trying to figure out what he is so I can figure out what to feed him.

He is very light green and does not have a distinct head or tail or other distinguishing marks. He has darker green crescent shaped lines going down his side and is only about an inch long.

Can you post a larger image?

That said, if it's a ceterpillar, it may be getting ready to pupate.

Hard to tell exactly, but it looks like too many prolegs (a pair on each abdominal segment) to be a caterpillar. Bears a resemblance to dogwood sawfly larva, sometimes these will go onto trees other than dogwood.

What's your location? Makes a big difference, in some instances. Oops, I see that you are in the UK. You good people have more of the tent making caterpillars than we do!
