I saw a small furry rodent go in and out of the very thick ivy ------8-10 inch thick with lots of thick vine on the ground-- This ivy lays in a confined area in the corner of the porch and garage wall. about a 3 foot by 8 foot area------He looks like a large mouse--same color---maybe a little darker-----runs low to the ground-- have seen rats before and he does not look that big---also no long tail------decided it was time to get rid of the ivy and redo that area. as I was pulling up a large clump of ivy next to the porch, I noticed what looked like dried grass bunched together like nesting--about a foot and a half square---then out of the corner of my eye, I seen him, or one of them scurry against the wall and go in a small hole in the corner. Have lived here a long time and have never seen in previous years. first time I seen him this year was about and hour after sun-up-----come out of ivy into middle of walk---then go back into ivy. would like to catch him alive and let loose somewhere---might make a trap but would not know what to bait it with---any ideas out there?--would like to post a picture but not sure he would pose for me-thanks---ED
