Yep, I'm there too! I decided to try a market garden this year. Worked my butt off 7 days a week since March. At the end of July I decided that due to late start, weather and learning curve it wasn't going to happen this year. Now there is still a lot of produce for a family and neighbors but I'm finding I can't get the energy to go back out and get going. Thoughts of digging up 750 tomatoes plants plus all the potaoes that need to be dug and the rest of the plants, etc. get the beds ready for next year and so on. I know I burned myself out and will do it differently next year. Reminds me of the song in "Blazing Saddles" by Madeline Kahn " I'm so tired........

If I'd write a family history it would be evident I am from a family of foodies, some working or have work in the industry. Familiar with his writings, it was a shock to read he took his life. I imagine his fame woke his demons. I am sorry he's gone, would like him to cook @ my imaginary dinner-party. RIP Mr. B,ourdain

I don't ever remember having any issue peeling hard boiled eggs UNTIL I read a post about it on here years ago. Then it suddenly was an issue! (I am sure I had just not noticed before.) I have tried virtually every method I have read about and my current preferred method is steaming. I have the same steamer basket as tigereye. I used it just last weekend to hard boil eggs. The steaming method doesn't always work but last weekend was one of the best batches I remember in ages. I didn't use ice water to cool but more room temperature. I will have to try the steaming combined with letting them cool at room temp.

I wake up from a dream which reminds me of something. When I start thinking about the whatever it is about I can't remember some detail. It might be a name of someone, a date or a place. Could be entirely irrelevant to the present but I might get up to look for an old letter or note, a passage in a book, an old calendar or go online. All this to satisfy my over-active mind for something that could reasonably be postponed for some other time. Then the lack of sleep hits in the morning. So I get up, drive myself to the stable, do my horse stuff, perfectly happy and wide awake because I love what I doing, then realize how tired I am on the way home. So I go back to bed and nap. Doesn't happen often but it did last night. Nothing else got done today. Generally as an older adult I don't make excuses. I fit in me days whenever I want them or need them. But the story of how I hijacked my rest seemed to fit the question somewhat.
