Major mis-information!!! I hope someone reading my post above continues to this one... I went to the Toro dealer today to pickup my ilder pulleys and found that the Toro person on the phone screwed up! Part 7451 is the pulley on the deck, not the idler out at the front of the tractor. I was very specific in describing the part I was after but the person on the other end of the phone was not reliable. Part 7451 is indeed about $13, but the idlers for the front of the tractor that redirect the mower drive belt from the PTO back to the deck pulley (did not get Toro part number from dealer today) were $27 each! Not only was my v idler shot but the square idler was on its way, so I had to buy both. The belt had seen better days so I bought a new one. The belt was $25 and I was about $88 lighter on the way out the door. Ouch. But, I got home, installed the new idlers and belt and she sounds so much better. My wife deemed it worth the money. The old v idler was really screamin. I would love to get another 20 years out of this machine it is certainly built solid and the parts are available. Hopefully I don't need them to frequently!

simplest way to fix the cant issue is to take it to a shop...pull the front tires and have them heat the lower portion of the spindles and carefully bend them down til desired cant is achieved. Re-grease spindles and you are back in business. Fixed mine this way and its just dandy. It ain't the factory way...but its a heckuva lot cheaper than replacing the spindles. It happens when someone drops the mower hard on the front end....something's gotta give.

I own (3rd hand, I got it with 1400 hours for $600 after a recent dealership service job -oil, belt, blades) a JD F525 with about 1600 hours on it. It has operated very well for me, but has recently started leaking oil. It still runs very well. The worst thing about the mower is that the transmission and engine are one unit and that it is very expensive to have rebuilt. I spoke to my dealer and he indicated it would probably be several hundred dollars to find and fix the leak as the engine/transmission would have to be pulled to find the leak. I just top it off before I cut each week and let it leak. Another thing, it has a top speed of about 5mph fwd and 2.5 mph rev. Okay for me, as my ground is a little rough and I couldn't travel much faster without being beat to death. I changed the spindle bearing this year for the first time (ever for two spindles). The bearings are sealed and cannot be greased, but that is pretty good life for sealed bearings.

You may want to contact kwik=way loader company of south Dakota they are the O.E.M. for the loader for the Simplicity XL and massey 2700 series. there Phone# 1-800-843-3720. I have a kwik-way loader on my 1999 White GT2055. They have been so busy with the Loaders and Backhoes with Simplicity and the Massey,Agco clones lately they haven't had much time to develop a backhoe for the JD X485 which I have a 45loader on currently. But they produce a great product. My white loader cycle times are faster than my Deere 45 loader on my X485. But the white doesn't have power steering so it doesn't get uses as much any more. Hope this helps. Here is a link that might be useful: kwik-way
