Well, you know I had a point!

Danny, boy I wasn't saying the children swap shouldn't happen. I am just saying I wouldn't participate in it because I have no children or GRANDCHILDREN for that matter and I couldn't play in those games...sniffly. And since I am older then DIRT now, mind you YOU are STILL older then I (hehe) I wouldn't know HOW to do a children's swap, what do those little Angels like now-a-days anyways?

I think the RR box is just one of the COOLESTEST ideas EVER...HOW NEATO, opps am I dating myself...oh no, I watched Rachal Ray, she says it yeah that's WHO I got that from NEATO!!! and YUM-O!!! ANYWAY, I would like to do that, BUT you must also realize it can cost someone a lot to mail outside of their zone, so you have to figure out who ships to who to keep the cost down and not just randomly pick names or in the order in which we sign up either.
It cost me more to send to say Texas then it would to SC.

OK,,,well, guess I better go find something else to do...

The kids swap , is for KIDS...NO ADULTS ALLOWED !!
The kids swap, was for the kids to sign up, thru the parent of course, then send a pack of seeds and a homemade card to the other kids. It was not MEANT for the adults to feel like they werent getting their alone time...

I would do three different swaps, but I dont think I need to..this is a bday celebration, and YOU CHOOSE if you want to join in the three different areas.

Angela, sorry it sounds as if I was in a sour mood...I was just having "one of those days"...the computer ISP kept coming and going...my power went out..and just everyday stuff...wasnt anything here..and I didnt want to talk much for fear I would say something that sounded wrong...as I did If I made you feel like it was about this..

It was just a day where I needed to crawl up with a good book, i think...but it was too busy for that..LOL

When I was receiving all the wonderful cards made by the kids, it made me think of them, and how much they might like getting a card in the mail too...I thought if 12 kids signed up, they would only have to mail one card a month..and so...I was just probably trying to take on too much...I will see if anyone wants to do it, if not that is ok also.

I would greatly appreciate it, if you could all take the time to send me the answers IN an email...that way this thread wont get all jumbled with answers, and I wanted to have them all in one place....thanks !

Well... personally I still celebrate my birthday. Though no one else does :( To me it's still an important day. Last two husband's could have cared less. But man, let their birthday pass without hoopla! Cliff is different and though my last birthday was a little overshadowned by buying the van, he still made it more special than the last two.

As far as celebrating my age, I still do. On January 14th I'll be 39 and proud of it! I'm still a young, vital, active woman and am proud of each year! LOL, I will probably never be one of those who remain 39 forever.

I'm really looking forward to getting the cards for my birthday! The kids use to make me some homemade ones, but I never really got any from anyone else. So this will be really special for me!

Kathy - I'm glad you're doing this swap. I, too, hardly get a birthday card other than from my little darlings. It's been a long while since I was a kid and always got attention on my birthday, so this will be fun!!!

Fran - It'll be fun to see you at it like we already have been enjoying! Just clarify for stuff I fall for that I shouldn't, to point out to everyone even more so how silly I am, okay? LOL :-)

Lisa - IF you have something to share that is on someone else's wish list, then send it to them for their birthday with a birthday card, and we will do the same thing for you. You do NOT need to send to everyone on their birthday. Pick one or two every month or so that you have something that they want and send it to them. The most important thing is to stick with it all year long rather than just the first few months and then flake off... we want those having birthdays late in the year to receive as abundantly as the rest of us do through the first part of the year.

Hey Fran...as for your stamps, here's what I do when I lose something like that...

1. Check pockets/purse (I'm sure you've already done this by now)
2. Check car thoroughly.
3. Re-trace remaining steps since you last saw them
4. If they still haven't turned up check the fridge/pantry!

Yes, I have found my keys in there before!! (I've also found the milk in the pantry, but that's a different story, LOL)!

Chellflower, your list of places to search reminds me of our hunts for my 2 year olds sippy cup, LOL. She'll come and ask for a drink, and I'll say where is the cup I already fixed for you. Of course the response is... yep, you guessed it ... "I don't know." We have found it under the couch, in her brother's bed, in the cabinet under the bathroom sink, and YES in the pantry. Sometimes it's a day or two before we can locate it, which isn't too bad if it happened to be juice, but if it was milk ... GROSS!!!

Bonnie, that is too funny...LOL I always had to have several sippy cups with my son because we never knew where they were...but I have to warn you..the yucky milk...it still happens...LOL My son is a teenager, and all he drinks is milk and water...I HATE to go into his room and find the milk cups...UGH!!

Fran, I lost a whole book of stamps a couple months ago. Looked for those buggers EVERYWHERE! moved desks, etc. I had some trades ready to send out, so I went and got more. Last month I was looking for something else and what did I find hiding in a corner of the drawer? That book of stamps! So.. I did a happy dance.. then promptly sent out more Christmas cards!

One day I was 2nd in the check out line at Walmart and when the first lady left and was already out of the store, I looked down and found that she had dropped a whole page of stamps. Neither I nor the cashier had any idea who she was so the cashier said, "Just take them". I hope that lady didn't spend as much time looking for them as you have. Hiya Hiya all! Not sure if this is where I should be posting about the wonderful xmas cards and seeds I've been recieving in the mail.

I recieved a card from Lori, vikingkirken..... the handmade seed packets are as cute as can be!!! She sent me some "Hawaiian Pineapple" tomato seeds, some "rosa bianca" eggplant seeds and some cilantro seeds! Thanks so much Lori! They all will DEFINATELY be in my garden this spring! Wooo Hoo!

I also recieved a card from Christy, bonechickchris.... she sent some "Red Marconi sweet pepper" seeds, and 4 differet types of eggplants! Diamond Eggplant, Thai long green eggplant, casper eggplant, and Florida market eggplant. Wow Christy..... I think there is a very good possibility that I may have TOO many eggplants in spring. LOL!!! Cut-back???... NO WAY! hahahaha

Hi Everyone,
I wanted to take a moment and thank you all for the beautiful cards you've sent, offering your love, caring, hugs, and friendship. It's good to know I've got so many people who care about me and Bump, especially when we find ourselves still looking and listening for Paula, the one who turned this house into a home. The things you've all said has made it obvious that I wasn't the only one who cared for Paula, and for that, I thank you. The outpouring of your love these past two weeks has been a great comfort to me. I don't know what I'd do without all you guys.
I have a request to make, though I'm not sure how exactly to say it. Can you imagine it? Me? Now knowing what to say? Anyway, let me just come out and say it, and please remember that I'm saying it with the best of intentions. I'm probably say this the wrong way, but then, I don't know if there's a right way. Bear with me, okay? ***deep breath*** Though I've enjoyed each and every card I've received, they've also reminded me of Paula's absence, and that's been a bit hard to deal with. I know the good intentions behind every card, and I love you all for them. I guess what I'm trying to ask, and botching it up pretty well, is that no one send any more cards about Paula. I need some time and space right now, so I can start figuring out how to make a life without her. My feelings are a bit raw still, and I need to let some of them settle down a bit. I know you are all willing to help me deal with Paula's absence, and I will forever be grateful for finding friends like you all. But, for now, I need to focus on the other parts of my life so I can get a handle on what's missing.
I hope you all understand. I don't want to upset anyone, hurt them, or harm. I just need a little time spent focusing on the other parts of my life.

It would be nice if we could all send one card per month to someone having a birthday that month, but it's not necessary to send every single month, from what I understand. It is only mandatory to stick with the swap throughout the year and not forget about your birthday swappers.

As far as my preferences, I'll be doing the card/seed swap, but not the others. I've found that I prefer RR swaps to true RRs, so I'm not going to do the Pinata. And Vincent and Devin are already involved in a children's birthday swap as well as being very well enabled by various Garden Buddies around here :) I'm not sure how much more their garden beds can hold!

Now I just need to get around to updating my trade list of things I have available to trade :)
