Where are you located?

This resembles big cat tracks...bobcat? Hmmmm....

Whatever it is, they are walking on their toes...I am not seeing an impression from a rear pad...was there?

Were impressions made by claws?

Oh good lord, I hope not! I live in the lower hudson valley of new york, in a suburban neighborhood, and these were on my front walkway. I didn't see any claw marks, and it looked to me only a single set of prints, just as I photographed it. Maybe we will get more snow and i will get better photos if it comes around again. You can see my size 7&1/2 footprints to the right in one of the photos.

You might send the pics to your local nature conservatory...they might be more familiar with the animals in your area.

He sure likes running in a straight line.

Kinda looks like a slow moving bunny rabbit passed your way.

My nephew, who is a hunter, guesses that it could be squirrel tracks. He said they hop along like that. He showed me this photo on the Wildwood Survival website for comparison. What do you all think?

Anita, I think you nailed it....that would be the most likely scenario!

Your pic clearly shows details that the OP's pics don't (because of the melting). You can see the individual little footprints in your pic...individual toes and all.

It was bugging me that the rear pad was not evident...the straight line is common, though.

I was thinking rabbit as I read on a tracks link recently the front and back paws often look like one track, when in fact, they are both front and back leg tracks because of the way they hop, they end up near each other.

Did that make sense? LOL

If the shoe tracks are 7 1/2 adult, isn't that an awfully big squirrel or rabbit? I wouldn't swear to my perception of sizes, but wt looks to me like the animal track is about 1/3 or 1/4 as long as the shoe track. Based on my size 8W foot, that would translate to about 2".

Hello again, hello. I sent the photo to an animal tracker that I met up with on the internet last year and he agrees that it is a rabbit. If you look at the last photo (not my pictures, but from a tracking website) you can actually see the 4 little paws together. My photos were taken after the snow was a little melted so they aren't as clear. But it's definitely a bunny.

I would rather put my money on a squirrel than a rabbit. Do a google image search on squirrel tracks. Most rabbit tracks around here have a slightly more staggard rear set of prints and are usually more spread out.

Your photo orientation is a little confusing because the tracks are shown coming and going.
