I certainly would not suggest painting that lovely table, but a little more red would help. The country setting looks great for hummers. If you plan to sit at the table to view the birds, you will need several birds. You would have to be fairly still long enough for the bird to approach, sit on and then feed from the feeder. Just a little movement from that close will run them off; if I move my hand or scratch my nose, my birds will move to another feeder and I am 10-12 feet from the nearest. A cough or sneeze from 30 feet will do the same. The feeder looks a little hidden by the tree. I would go the extra yardage an put up another feeder.

I've bought so many of them, from Home Depot over the years and they never make it through the season without breaking &/or leaking. Perky Pet did make a tubular feeder (selling for $19.99) but their comments were terrible, mostly on its overall construction, and it looks cheap too. Steph, I hate to see a post go unanswered for so long, but I'm not really sure what it is you're looking for. Perhaps other potential responders are in the same quandary. I simply am not familiar with copper tubing with flowers on the end. Copper tubing, of course, but with flowers on the end of it? No. I did a little internet searching myself and couldn't find anything resembling this. Perhaps you could explain more fully what it is you are trying to do. I'm pretty handy, so maybe I could figure out how you could get the results you are after. Would it work to get copper tubing, which is very easily obtainable, and fashion some sort of flower at the end?

Suz2020 Heres some more info for you. Your base does not need to be pitched. Its always the ring which if treated too roughly can break. I have had mine for years. Also when you get that black stuff inside the base and around the portholes that is mold and needs a good bleach soak of about 1-10 ratio for about 1/2hr to an hour or so and then rinsed well with cold water. I found this site which has the pp209 ring perch for $2.35 but they do charge $5.99 ups ground shipping. That is all you really need. Scroll down the page to the left hand corner you will see the correct replacement ring. An entire new feeder cost from $16 on up. They also show the entire base for $6.35.
