pine siskins

have had some pine siskins here all fall but had a big flock show up yesterday poor picture thru a frosty window but at least can see it

Great little birds in small groups. Some years they show up in huge flocks and gobble up all the food in no time. Some thing like Redpolls. It's all or nothing. Haven't had either this year.

Thanks for your responses. I am beginning to think it is due to the mild winter we are having. The Siskins and Grosbeaks I usually have, are probably not coming this far south. Any Canadians having an increase and decrease of their usual feeder visitors? I have had a Brown Creeper visiting, which has been rare for me. Glad to see it, such a neat little guy.

Awwww...they are so cute. Was it year before last when we had a Pine Siskin Irruption? Well anyway, I had never seen one prior to that, and we had scads and scads of them in my Georgia yard that year. Where are you located dklucius?~~Angie
