That is a beautiful deep pink! Google "Ellen Bousanquet" and see if that is what you have.

Thank you guys for all your help, I really appreciate it! I am not spraying any insecticides and I have so many different bugs showing up all the time, I rather like it., but today I have something that is really frightening me and that is some kind of bees or hornets that are making their nests in the ground right near my roses, they attacked me twice and I had to run into the house like a lunatic. My grandson is coming tomorrow to stay for a few days and he loves to play outside, I just don't know what I am going to do, I just might have to spray something near the holes these bees are making, I hate to do it but I might have no choice. They are very big bees too!

It's an ichneumon wasp, genus Megarhyssa. Parasitic on other woodboring larvae, such as Tremex, a large horntail wasp. Completely harmless to people. It uses the long ovipositor to lay eggs down in the tunnels of the woodboring wasp larvae, which then become food for the Megarhyssa larvae. Ain't bugs great?
