I also forgot to mention the time frame for this. I will take sign-ups for this untill at least mid January, and may take on new traders for a second (or third or fourth) circut as the robin flies. I would like the bubble mailers circulating for as long as possible, a year or more even =) I think it will be fun to see how many places we can go with this and how long we can keep it going!
I don't expect to begin mailing untill February. This should give me time to wrap up my other trades and get everything prepared! Also, I mentioned that I would like to send three mailers, this is if we have a large enough response. If we have 50 or less join, I will send two. If the number is 25 or less (lets hope not!) I will send out one.
I will keep bumping the post if it falls behind!

Shannon - I LOVE the name of this robin, too funny! And maybe the seeds in the robin will bring us all new adventures in our gardens, just like the pants brought adventures to the girls in the movie!

I'd love to participate. Don't think I've traded with you before, but I'm a veteran of the original Garden Circle Exchange Ring which I believe you're joining for year 2, and Sue should be able to vouch for me, I've participated in a couple of her robins before. And besides, I'm an escaped Michigander...

Shannon, this sounds super Kool! I like the idea of the CD for photos too. Being an impatient soul.... I wondered about maybe starting one envelope with the first 25 and then the next one with the next 25. That would also keep you from having to list and contact everyone at the same time. Just an idea there and of course people could keep signing up and keep those bubble envies going and going and going and....

Need five more for the first mailer =) I am going from 25 down to 20 for each mailer to shorten up the flight time! I figure with 25 traders, even if we keep the "landings" spaced about a week apart, the mailers will take about 6 months to make the complete route.

How this Robin will work...
When I have 20 traders, I will email you all for your snail-mail addresses and set up a mailing order. If your spam filters are set to block bulk mailings, be sure to add me to your address book so my message will be sent to your inbox! Or, check your bulk folders before you delete. I will post the mailing order when I have all the addresses and send the Robin flying shortly after!
I will continue to take sign-ups for a second and third mailer after the first has flown.
The bubble mailers will contain:

• A notebook for traders to record the places the mailer visits and any notes you may want to add about your gardens, hobbies, pets, families, etc.

• Two packages of seeds: One for more common varieties and one for named/rare varieties.

• A CDR to share your photos with other traders.

• A few small gifts, and...

• Instructions for sending, mailing labels, etc.

Mailer should be sent by priority mail with delivery confirmation. I will include priority mailing labels with each trader's address, and will use my address for the return. That way if something happens or the package cannot be delivered, it will go back to me and I can take care of it. I will also include a few DC tickets just in case =)
When you recieve the mailer, please follow the instructions carefully, and post to let us all know it has landed!
Please send the mailer on to the next person on the mailing list a.s.a.p., within 3-4 days would be ideal! If you will be late in sending, please email me or post to let me know.
As with any RR, you may take as much as you like, but return as much as you take. I will start the Robin with a few small gifts, you may choose any or all of these, as long as you replace them! The gifts should be something small and thoughtful, nothing too extravagant. You may add extra seeds and gifts if you like, just keep your fellow Sisters' postage costs in mind...

Good morning Sisters!

I will send out an email later this morning to collect snail-mail addys and info from everyone who has signed up so far. If you have sent me your address already, please fill out and return this morning's email as well, as all resposes will be filed in a seperate folder for this first round!
I have started putting the first mailer together, and hope to mail it soon!

We still need two more players for this first round, and I will continue to take sign-ups for the next round. I expect postings to slow down a bit over the next week, but hope we can get our next two traders soon! I may be a bit spotty in my postings over the next week also. My daughter is visiting untill NY's eve, and I want to spend as much "quality family time" as possible!

Well, I'm a bit slow on the uptake here - but I'd like to either be included in Round 1, or start Round 2. I haven't done any RRs before, but have two or three years in of trading and swaps.

AND I have a Celtic/medieval/Goth garden, so how bad can I be? :)

Black Jack! We got 21 ;)

I know, I know, I did say 20 for the first mailer to be sent, but I just can't leave Kim out in the cold! She is a wonderful person, and I have been trading with her since I joined this site.

I have either recieved info or have addresses on file for everyone except EarthlyDelights, and I expect she will send soon.

It looks like the bubble mailer will begin its travels in the land of igloos =D After a stop in the great northwest, the bird will fly south! After its brief vacation in the sunny southwest, the mailer will return to the Winter Wonderland! Then through the midwest to the east coast, heading south again =D

Once again, I will post the official mailing order on an update thread just as soon as we have our last address! It is my plan to send the mailer out on or about January 6, 2006. If anyone needs to drop out, change their info, etc., please LMK soon =)
