a 'Ladderback....'

Think I saw one of the small Ladderback woodpeckers at the hummingbird feeder yesterday! Couldn't get my camera in time nor could figure out why the woodpecker would be at the hummingbird feeder? I was a bit smaller than our local sparrows & fit the pic of one in my 'Birds of New Mexico' guide!

Doesn't look like the Downy pics in my books ... the one I saw did not have the white back patch but instead black & white bars/stripes .... the 'ladder' back? Hopefully I can get another look & perhaps a pic of it; wonder why it was at the hummingbird feeder? The darn sparrows do try & drink from the feeders though too... trapeze artists!
We seem to get 'waves' of different varieties of birds that come, stay a few years & then pretty much leave; then another variety will come in & take their place for another few years. The beautiful but loud & obnoxious Great tail Grackles were here for years & now we see less of them but the Curvedbill Thrasher seems to have taken it's place in numbers & nest in our yard in the cactus. Very few Robins lately sadly. The one pair of Mourning doves we had several years ago now have many generations taking up nesting in our huge red cedar & tamerisk/saltcedar tree. Occasionally a raven will come up from the Rio Grande Bosque during the day .

are these ladderback chairs and oak table- antiques?

With a parquetry top in that style and from the table support I'm think it's probably more like 30-40 years old at most. Antique parquetry table tops tend to be a lot more elaborate. And antique oak table tops tend to be large planks, not little parquetry ones.

I hope this works. If not, is there a way to upload photos on gardenweb? I have the pictures on my computer as well as snapfish. http://www2.snapfish.com/snapfish/slideshow/AlbumID=2928882024/PictureID=105794590024/a=152671254_152671254/ or http://www2.snapfish.com/snapfish/thumbnailshare/AlbumID=2928882024/a=152671254_152671254/otsc=SHR/otsi=SALBlink/COBRAND_NAME=snapfish/ Sorry about all the confusion. nyboy-it was such a shock to be so 'blessed' by a total stranger & his wife. Bought chairs on the 10th & PRESTO, on the 17th a chair appears immediately not recognizable until I read the card. YEP, my first reaction was exactly as barnmom for about 10 minutes.. lindac 100% agree up to the gingham & cat. Yellow is my least favorite color & Fido is too old to tolorate ANOTHER CAT!!!LOL. This sweet old man is coming over tomorrow accepting the chairs return. he wants to show me the coffee table he purchased, "Fully Restored" his words. I'm scared! I dont have a complete before pic of it but I see the legs in clamps in the background in the first photo.

Are my ladderback chairs valuable?

I bought these from someone who bought them from an antique store. Now I need to sell them but I have no idea what they're worth. There are no identifying marks indicating any manufacturer. The set includes 4 dining chairs and 2 more with arms. The rush seating needs to be replaced on 3 of them. Also wondering how much that costs and if it would be worth it to have that done before I try to sell them. Any input would be appreciated! Thanks!
