Krista- Thanks...it was very good pie. My mom uses lots of brown sugar and cinnamon and the apples are a little tart, so great combination :) Rosefolly- Sorry, I don't know what kind of apples they are...the tree has been here for at least fifty years (it's in some of the old pictures) and my husband's grandmother, who planted the tree, passed away before we moved out here. The apples are smaller than normal, but bigger than crabapples. They're a little tart, red with a bit of yellow and green, even when ripe and they ripen in October. They also don't have worms, which I've heard is unusual in our area...but I don't know if that has anything to do with the type of apple tree.

Thank you Karen. I love the card. Enjoy your day. Nana This post was edited by nana2010 on Thu, Nov 28, 13 at 7:56

Thank you to those with expertise, generously shared. Thank you to those with problems, candidly discussed. Thank you to those who post pictures, worth thousands of words; and to those who post words, worth reading and re-reading by current GWers and those who will search in the future. Thank you to those who are savvy enough to post multiple pictures, use photoshop, draw and redraw layouts, and to those who struggle with language and grammar but contribute here anyway. Thank you to those who are kind and encouraging to people in distress, and to those who are truthful and direct. Thank you to those who are funny, and those who appreciate the humor. Thank you to those who obsess over cabinet construction, color undertone, the temperature and CRI of lights, the properties of rocks, the heft of hardware, and the cost, ecological impact, durability, function, shape, cleaning, maintenance and ethics of purchasing things from floor adhesive to roof vent caps and everything in between. And thanks to those who realize these are first world problems and spend time helping those less fortunate. You are all important to this GW forum, and undoubtedly even more important to people you know IRL. I'm giving thanks to God for many blessings today, including all of you.

We had a great day and are still enjoying the long weekend! Thanks for the well wishes.
