Poor Chipping Sparrow is always a victim

It seems that every year the poor little chipping sparrow has to raise a huge baby cowbird. They seem to be especially susceptible to having their nests invaded by a cowbird's egg. I wonder if they ever get to raise their own young. I never seem to see baby chipping sparrows in my yard; just these cowbirds. Not that I have a lot of chipping sparrows; usually only one or two but it never fails, they always end up raising a cowbird. I always feel sorry for this poor little bird. Its "baby" is 3 times the size of it. It must run itself ragged trying to get enough seeds to feed this baby and they always seem to do it. I love these little sparrows.
