Hey Rustipup - well, the hammock sure isn't a Pawley's Island variety, but then for eight bucks, not all that bad. The hammock itself does stretch so when your tying it taunt between two trees at waist level and then get into it, will then almost touch the ground ... maybe a foot high; I should say I weigh close to 200 lbs. And having it low turned out to be a good thing for me as one of the ropes I used to secure it to the tree snapped and I went "THUD" on the ground! Certainly not the hammoch's fault, but rather the old rope I was using from the hammock rope to the tree (I just can't seem to throw old stuff away until it's rotted or fails!)- and under me was pine straw and no rocks!

Did manage a couple of naps in the thing but we were having rain almost every day. Where I really put it to use was for airing out the bedding when the sun shown through. Also, great for laying out some wet clothes to dry; and when getting ready to break camp, laying out ground cloths & tarps to hold off the ground while folding to put away.

All in all, maybe not in the best league of hammocks, but for eight bucks, not all that bad a bargin! The name on the box says "Compact Camper's Hammock", and it's made in Gardena, CA. Box it comes in is 2 1/2"X 3" and 20 1/2" long - found it in the tent section there at Wally-Mart's.

Yeah, I'm really sold on them bug swabs. So convenient! I keep a couple of the tucked away in my fishing tackle and in the tackle box. I sure hate to dope up before leaving camp and then end up not needing anything. Yet on the other hand, if I venture out and away and run into a swarm of whatever, great to have them on hand and be effective, too!
