do tomatoe hornworms start off microscopic?

Hi Everyone!

Does anyone know if hornworms start out as tiny, itty bitty, bareley visible little worms on the underside of leaves? I know I had a spider mite problem which I managed to get a handle on with water and soap and cayenne pepper, before it ate up the top part of my plant. I'm desperatley trying to salvage my little baby. This morning I found new holes on the top half, which is still young and tender. I looked, saw a few red mites but after closer observation tiny little larvae or worms that can barely be seen even with my handy geology rock magnifying glass....

Could these be hornworms? There almost seems to be one on every leaf that I pick.... One or two tiny, microscopic worms. I've looked at every tomatoe pest on Google but none identified these.

Any ideas on what these could be?
