Thanks lindalana! I put them in some chinese take out containers (plastic bowls) last night just to get them in some soil, and put them in a southern facing window. Once they sprout should I pot them up individually? Great idea on the climbing sticks and pinching them back, didn't know to do that.

I wouldn't consider that a boo boo. I make lots worse ones than that. I know you wanted the apricot specifically to go with your rose, but the lavender looks good to me.

I don't see why texting would be such an embarrassment. If she was sitting behind a judge I might assume she was a journalist getting her story in. I've seen that sort of thing while attending plays. They don't take notes. They text. Isn't the Miss USA and Miss Universe owned by the same corporation?? It is Miss USA that competes in the Miss Universe pageant - not Miss America which is owned by a different corporation. I think he was just promoting one of their other televised shows and trying to generate excitement.
