Regardless of whether your bringing your tree in or not, you still have to feed it . If you have Foliage Pro, I would use it twice a week at half the recommended dose. Also, add a teaspoon of white vinegar to your water. That will help with the acid but M.G. acid once a week will also be a good idea. I know your worried about all the growth but you should be fine. You could even just use M.G. twice a month, but if you don't start feeding way more, you will end up losing your tree. Meyer lemons are heavy feeders. They flower heavily in the spring and fall, and if you don't start feeding it more, your tree won't properly bloom, and fruit. As long as you start feeding like I suggested, your tree will turn around and should be much happier than what it is now. Good luck and keep us posted! Andrew

I am new to bluebirding and I stopped by to ask a question, which you answered with your lovely pictures. I was wondering if it would be ok to use a regular hinge on a nestbox. I had a hard time removing a wasp nest and re-soaping the ceiling so I replaced the original screw-hinge with a regular hinge. I see you have a regular hinge on yours, and it seems to be working out pretty well for you. Thanks for posting those wonderful pictures.

Some of your choices will include chicken pot pie, schnitz un knepp (ham cooked with dried apples and dumplings), Lebanon bologna (a type of summer sausage) sandwiches, potato cakes, sausage and pepper sandwiches, shoofly, cherry crumb or other crumb-topped fruit pies, corn pie, fried scrapple and/or corn meal mush, roast ox, and pickles and preserves of many varieties. On the way home, weÂll stop at one of the farmers markets for thinly sliced dried beef, applewood smoked bacon and ham, Lodi apples, Uncle HenryÂs hard pretzels, any one of a dozen varieties of potato chips still fried in lard, sticky buns, chip steak, freshly picked corn, untrimmed celery, pickled eggs and red beets, pot pie noodles, whoopie pies and Moravian sugar cakes. I confess that I wonÂt feel much like cooking dinner since IÂll be tired from volunteering at the festival. We can go out for dinner at any one of a score of diners or 100+ year old still-operating village hotels/taverns, where itÂs possible that some of the nightly specials may be stuffed beef heart with gravy or pig stomach stuffed with potatoes, onions, smoked and fresh sausage.
