Not exactly camping related but thought everyone would smile. I was watching the Pope updates a while ago and heard a loud crash. Went outside to see our chimnea knocked over by the swing sitting by the pond. Pouring out and very heavy winds off and on all day. Got hubby to go out with me to pick everything up and ck. on the pond to see that the fish were alright. We take the dog out and we hear this quacking real close by. I stop and listen for a minute, walk closer to the end of yard at the fence. Lean down and peek through the evergreen and see two ducks swimming in the back neighbors swimming pool. They are happily swimming on his cover which is under a lot of water at the moment. They didn't seem to mind us being close so we watched for a few minutes. The male was really pretty. I went in to get my digital camera for some pictures but as I was coming back out my neighbor was taking his 8 yr old son to see them and they flew away. He told me they have been there for 3 springs now, and stay about 3 - 4 weeks and then leave. I have never seen them or heard them before. I am looking to see when they are back and if the rain lets up a little so I can get some good shots. That made my day for sure. I wonder if they have been in our pond which is right over the fence. It is plenty big enough for them to swim around in. If I get the pix I will find out how to post them and show you.
