April Fools Day!

What April Fools Day joke have you pulled? Or, has someone pulled one on you?

My son pretended to be a car mechanic. My truck was in the shop and I was worried it was going to be pretty serious. Turned out to be manageable.

But, my son, who's 19, called me pretending to be the shop mechanic. He told me all kinds of things he had found and the bill would be around 1400 dollars. I pleaded with him to just repair the minimal for now and we would work something out and schedule the rest of the repairs. I was really shocked and bummed. Then, he said, "April Fools.."

He started hooting and laughing on the phone and my wife was in the background, too. They all laughed so hard, the dog started barking.

Ok, who's next? did ya get someone good? Or did they get you? (All in good fun, please?)

When I was a kid I switched the salt and sugar. I put salt in the sugar bowl and sugar in the salt shaker! My mother gagged on her coffee and did NOT find the joke funny! Now that I truly enjoy my one cup of coffee in the morning, that is my ony cup all day, I can understand her lack of humor! I wouldn't want anybody messing with my coffee either!

Here in the Pittsburgh area, the local morning talk show host told everybody that KDKA Radio station was going to blow up/ down their radio tower in North Park, several miles north of the city limits! He had lots of folks driving out there to see it happen! Oh my, what a traffic jamm he caused!
A lot of folks took the morning off, some kept their kids home from school, the cops were puzzled as to why so many people showed up at the park so early that day!
Knowing what a fooler that guy was, i was surprised that so many folks took him seriously!
We all had a good laugh out of it, but the authorities weren't happy about it!

HI... I thought that I put a post here... wonder where I did? I actually got the package on the 14th I remember because it was flag day.... I will repost.. THank you so much Paula, for the great box.. I rec. delphin. (sp) and I have always wanted these as well as two coreopsis. An awesome Frog statue for my mantle and a bell chime.. Deb included a picture of herself and what a hottie!!! I can't wait to get the film developed to see the gardens I am just trying to use up the film as not to waste it.. I am super glad that everyone had so much fun and I am sorry it took so long.. Maybe next time I can think of something that won't be so confusing Oh yeah I hit the jackpot with all the great seeds you all included... Thanks again for playing.. A-Hem. Well...since you asked.... *grin*.... A VERY long time ago- about, oh, 18 years or so - I was at a slumber party with a couple of friends. We were roasting marshmallows on a bonfire, out in the front yard. And, since this was out in the sticks (and I mean...WAY out in the sticks, the closest neighbor was 5 miles away, and the closest neighbor to THEM was 5 miles away......ANYHOO....pardon, too many brownies, My mind tends to wander....) SOOOO....this was out in the sticks, and there were chickens running around in the yard. Poor, helpless, defenseless chickens. Lots and lots of chickens. So there we were, using old wire coat hangers (unfolded, of course) to roast marshmallows. Then, the unthinkable, un-avoidable, and totally a waste of good marshmallow happens. My marshmallow caught fire. And I don't mean *fire*. I mean....FLAMING, INCINERATING, little-ball-of-DEATH type fire. Yay. Naturally, I'm calm and collected....while the other girls are screaming their fool heads off. "YOUR MARSHMALLOW'S ON FIRE! YOUR MARSHMALLOW'S ON FIRE!!!!" Yeah, duh..... So, I react in an appropriate manner, of course. I start waving the coat hanger/marshmallow fire ball in the air, hoping to fan out the fire. Next thing I know, the marshmallow goes flying off the end of the wire, whizzing through the air.....ZOOOOMMMM!!!!...... And smacks a poor chicken RIGHT ON THE NOGGIN. Still flaming, with marshmallow-ey goo going everywhere, the poor chicken runs around bock-bocking all over the place. We all run for the water hose, and put the chicken out... But she didn't make it. :O( Guess what we had for supper the next night? Yep, roasted chicken!

Yesterday at school we all decided to "get" our teacher. One of the girls said she couldn't come in due to a doc appt. then about half later I said I couldn't make it due to personal reasons. Right before lunch someone else said she had to take her baby to the doc for shots, she almost forgot.
After we got back from lunch someone said she had an interview and wouldn't be in. About an hr later someone said she couldn't come due to a problem she was having. He goes hey guys it seems a lot of people won't be in but thats ok, he said he would be there even if only one person showed up. About an hr goes by and someone else says she won't be in. then he goes wow whats going on, are you messing with me? She said to him, maybe she had it wrong, and to ck. the date, he looks at Fridays date and we all laughed and said "gotcha"
Guess you had to be there!!! It was pretty good really. I guess being back in school does have it perks if getting the teacher is still fun....LOL
