We have a small family of barn swallows that live nearby but visit the gutters over my garage every day. The little ones can fly but they hang out over the gutters for feeding (it's rather cute). I noticed one by my car and he can't fly. It appears his little wing is injured. I've tried looking up wildlife rehabbers but the closest one is a two hour drive! I don't want to take the little one that far away from his home. Does anybody have suggestions? The parents keep swooping nearby trying to get him to fly off but he can't.
I have an older (19 yrs) cockatiel in my home but he's never injured his wing. I'm hesitant to bring a wild bird into the home due to parasites/illnesses.
