as well as what's said above, adding all those compost loving worms to the new beds just fertilizes the ground w/ 'meat'!! they won't have the rich diet they prefer in the composting environment, so die off or migrate to areas where they find a better food supply - a high percentage will be lost in a short time - I don't worry about getting all of'em out, or the cocoons/young'uns, but after feeding one end of the bin for awhile to 'migrate' them away from the mostly finished material I add the stragglers to a garden always kept rich in compost so they can continue earning their keep Bill

Hi all--Cassie, sorry to hear about you family's loss. I received the robin today, I just went through it and put in some new seeds that weren't already there, crape myrtle, baptista australis, some daylilies and LOTS of others. It is a nice robin, and very nicely organized guys! This was my first round robin, thanks for making it a good one. I will get this baby Robin out tomorrow and get it on to Theresa in NC! Make sure you do put your boxes on electric conduit, however you don't necessarily need to hang them higher; I'd stay within 5-10 feet. If predators such as snakes, raccoons, etc are common around you (or even if they aren't), be sure to put up a predator baffle on the pole (the wobbling design) --> http://sialis.org/baffle.htm About the feeder: you could try investing in a jailhouse mealworm feeder, which is designed to keep bigger birds such as robins, mocking birds, and starlings out, while allowing bluebirds to get inside the feeder. There are also wooden and glass designs that have holes on either end for blues to enter and exit. -->http://sialis.org/feeder.htm If the house that was attacked is the only house you have, I would relocate it some (clean it too), because bluebirds often don't return to an attacked nesting site. Of course if you suspect sparrows or wrens, you can try a sparrow spooker and/or a wren guard. Best of luck.

Not for me, I'm afraid. I felt dizzy and uncomfortable just looking at the pictures, as though I were going to fall off a cliff. Those stairs looked pretty treacherous to me. I do like floor to ceiling bookcases, and have seen pictures of stairwell bookcases that I admired. But those ones would have me constantly off balance. Rosefolly
