It is like I wrote this! :) It is my first year as well, only herbs and peppers last year. I bought WAY too much squash. It is producing like crazy and taking over my small garden! I bought an old iron door to serve as a trellis and to hide a water heater junk behind my garden. Now I can barely see this 7ft door from the tomatoes! This is crazy! Good thing we bought the next piece of land also, I will need to expand next year...;) My dog is still chasing everything that flies, and I am trying to tell him to leave the wasps alone. Maybe he will learn his lesson... It is very exciting to see all the plants doing so well, but we are just now hitting 100F (North Dallas). Last year my peppers started producing in late September and I barely got them harvested before the cold weather. Oh that's fantastic - a fine speci-mine! Love seeing it, glad you found this again, kind of an arcane niche forum. Your plant did a much better job staying purple and retaining leaves inside. I wonder if I'm just leaving these out in the cold too long in the fall. The plant below is about the best looking one I've ended up with from bringing them in many times, in OH and AL. They recover within a couple weeks, with a flush of pretty new leaves, but not easy to look at all winter. Nice size, too! So glad you got roots, I was almost certain you would, as sure as one can be regarding propagating anything. I've kept pieces in water all winter before, but that only means about 3 months here. When it's warm and humid, I just stick pieces in the ground or pots and those almost always take root too, if they don't get too dry. And no way, you do NOT have a spider plant in there - yes you DO! That's too weird. GMTA! Your yard looks peaceful and beautiful, BTW. Haven't seen that spot before, love it!

I ordered 2 batches of 12 and got 29 cuttings! Not a bad deal at all. I did the first batch, from Aloha tropicals with eggs. The first batch from Derrick with no eggs. This last batch(from Derrick) did rootone, miracle grow organic 1:1 perlite and watered w/ dynapro. They are now on the side porch where they get no rain but afternoon sun. So far all of the ones from Aloha and the first batch from Derrick are doing great, no real difference, about the same number have claws, the same number leaves are already growing. Our humidity was lower for a couple of days, nights only in upper 70`s/low 80s and mid-80`s days. Back to hot and humid now though. Tally HO!

For anyone finding this thread for research purposes, Amazon has thousands of reviews by 2019 on Delta faucets that incorporate the ShieldSpray technology, and for the most part, complaints center around the other workmanship of the faucet failing in as few as six months from installation despite faucet cost of several hundred dollars. One review I saw complained about splashing from the ShieldSpray. Most other reviews are neutral about the splash factor meaning ShieldSpray may not be as tremendous an innovation as Delta claims. I've generally not seen incredibly positive reviews about Delta as a whole. Moen tends to bring in more positives, but it varies based on the style. We did go with Delta brass faucets for our bathrooms and have been totally happy with them for 2 years, but they were solid brass and cost considerably more than the average Delta bathroom faucet, though not as much as some of the ShieldSpray kitchen faucets. For my kitchen renovation, I had considered ShieldSpray technology but am turned off by the complaints of quality of the faucets in general that incorporate this. Instead, I am going to look at California Faucets or Waterstone in addition to several other brands I've seen on display. Newport Brass is another one. I like the smooth pull action of these brands for the retractable sprayer head, and most of these upper-tier faucet manufacturers stand by their products with a long warranty.
