safflower seeds are small off white seeds from a annual shrub grown in the USA and Canada. black oil sunflower seed has a black hull and an off white seed inside. you can buy hulled or in the hull. the striped sunflower seeds are the kinds people eat and a just a larger seed than the black sunflower except that the black oil sunflower has been bred up to contain more oil.

My birds prefer the raw seeds but will eat the roasted ones
