I have a second nesting of bluebirds in the backyard and, for the first time, a nesting of purple martins. There is a sparrow spooker on the bluebird house. The HOSP love the Martin house and I have trapped many there. Yesterday, a male and female HOSP were having a wonderful time investigating the Martin house. I have 2 compartments with traps. The HOSP would go in and out of 2 compartments, look into one with the trap but would never go in! I finally brought the Martin house down and switched the trap to the compartment the HOSP seemed to prefer. Had the male within a New York minute. Too bad that I could not trap the female first.
